Took me 8 hours to pour a 6x6 slab because I forgot the vapor barrier
Went to pour a small patio slab last Wednesday and halfway through the truck was already here before I realized I never laid down the vapor barrier underneath. Had to stop the pour, get the crew to pull up the wet mix, and roll out the 6 mil plastic while the driver waited. Has anyone else had a brain fart like this that added a bunch of time to a simple job?

8 hours for a 6x6 slab? Dude that's brutal. I get forgetting the vapor barrier but stopping the whole pour to rip up wet concrete sounds like a nightmare I'd rather just live with the mistake and throw some extra gravel down later.

Did you get any pushback from the crew about ripping it up? Ive been there where you just want to power through and fix it later, but moisture always finds a way to mess things up. I had a similar situation with a small shed pad and regretted not stopping to fix the barrier right then. What did you end up doing with all that wet concrete?
