My brand new pressure washer blew a gasket on the third job last month

I had a landscaping gig for a client in Arlington and was halfway through cleaning their driveway when the pump just started screaming and then quit. Turns out the cheap brass fitting they used on the inlet was too small and it starved the pump of water. Had to finish with a garden hose and a scrub brush for the rest of the day. Anybody else had a new tool fail right out of the box like that?

@pat_park nailed it. They cheap out on fittings because most people won't check.

21mm inlet on my Dewalt 4000 series. That's the weird size nobody talks about. I spent three hours at hardware stores trying to find a quick connect that fit before I realized the manual actually specified it. The brass fitting on yours was probably some generic 3/8 they crammed on there to save 30 cents. These manufacturers are cutting corners on the smallest parts because they know most people won't notice until the thing breaks. Check your manual for the exact spec on every fitting before you even unbox it next time lol.
