That one Tuesday when everything went wrong with my color formulas
I had a day last spring where I mixed up three different color formulas for a balayage client and they all came out muddy. First one pulled too warm, second turned ashy, and third just looked like a weird brown mess. I had to strip it all and start over, which took me 4 hours total on one head. The client was super patient but I was sweating bullets the whole time. What made it stand out is that I normally nail my formulas on the first try, so that day really messed with my confidence. Has anyone else had a day where your mixing skills just completely abandoned you?

Those muddy browns sound like you stumbled into the curse of a dirty bowl or brush.

Wait wait wait @baker.ben are you seriously telling me you've never accidentally used a dirty bowl or brush before? I'm shook honestly because that's like a rite of passage for anyone who bakes more than once a month. Like I've definitely had those moments where I was too lazy to properly wash something and then my frosting came out weird and I blamed everything but the real culprit. It's such a sneaky mistake though because you don't notice until you've already mixed everything in and then you're stuck with that sad greyish mess.
