Why does everyone keep using the same shears for wet and dry cutting?

I've been cutting for about 8 years now, and something that keeps bugging me is how many cosmetologists I see using their main shears for both wet and dry cutting. I was trained that wet cutting dulls blades faster because the hair is heavier and puts more stress on the edge. After getting 6 months out of a nice pair of Kamisoris before they needed sharpening, I switched to a separate beater pair for wet work. That set of shears is still going strong after 2 years. Is this just a me thing, or do others see the same problem at their stations?

Wet hair actually puts less stress on blades since it's softer and more elastic.

Actually @thompson.robin, wet hair is weaker but it also expands the cuticle, so blades can grab and snag more instead of gliding smooth. The softness helps the blade, but the swelling can cause more friction against the edge.
