Reading through contest entries, the theme of silent quitting keeps popping up.

It's like we're all using writing to deal with the weirdness of modern work.

Do you ever feel like management is just not on the same page? I used to think quiet quitting was just people being lazy. But reading all these entries, especially @parker186's story about the satirical newsletter, changed my mind. Seeing how their higher ups missed the point completely made it click for me. It's like writing gives a voice to the frustration that never gets heard at work. That disconnect is what makes silent quitting such a common theme now.

Three stories mentioned silent quitting, did management ever notice?

Yeah when Coleman asked if management ever noticed, that hit home. I wrote a whole satirical company newsletter for a contest once, basically detailing my own quiet pullback from extra projects. My direct boss thought it was hilarious fiction, but the higher ups who actually caused the problem never said a word. They just missed the point completely. It's wild how you can shout something into your writing and the right people never hear it.
