Builder said soft close drawers were a $2,400 upsell, three years in they still feel brand new
When we built our house outside Boise in 2021, our builder quoted us $2,400 extra for soft close hardware on all the kitchen and bathroom drawers, and I almost said no because it sounded like a gimmick. My wife pushed for it, so we paid, and I figured we got taken. Three years later with two kids slamming drawers constantly, not one has broken, and every time I visit my brother's place with standard drawers I hear that loud bang and wince. Now I'm wondering if I was too cheap on other upgrades like the solid core doors we skipped. What upgrade did you almost pass on, and did it turn out worth the money or not?
