I finally listened to my concrete guy about aggregate suppliers

My concrete contractor Dave told me 2 years ago to stop buying gravel from the big box store and use a local pit in Delaware instead. I thought he was just being picky but last month I had to redo a slab because the aggregate had too much dust in it. Spent $1200 extra on that fix. Who else has ignored a subcontractor's advice and paid for it later?

Did you notice the dust issue before pouring the slab?

Oh man, @daniel552, I wish I had noticed before we poured. The dust was actually visible in the bags but I figured it would just wash out during mixing. Nope. That stuff just turned the whole slab into a crumbly mess. Dave probably got a good laugh watching me learn the hard way two years after he told me. At least you get to say "I told you so" forever now.
