Spent $600 on custom cabinets for my mudroom and they already warped
I went with a local cabinet maker here in Denver because I wanted something built to last. Paid $600 for solid maple cabinets with a custom finish. After just four months, the doors started bowing and the drawer fronts won't close right. The humidity from boots and coats getting stored in there must be too much. The builder said he sealed them but clearly not enough. Now I'm looking at another $200 to have them re-done with marine grade plywood instead. Anyone else had trouble with custom cabinetry in high moisture areas like mudrooms or laundry rooms? What wood did you end up using that held up?

Built to last" doesn't mean BUILT for humidity, I guess.

@Gavin_Clark nailed it, that maple never stood a chance in a mudroom. Did you look at sealing the raw plywood edges yourself before install?
