The inspector walked my framing in Bend and said one sentence that saved me $2,100
Had the rough-in inspection on the Willow Lane build last Tuesday and the guy spent 40 minutes mostly quiet, then stopped at the stair header and asked who laid out the joist hangers. I said my lead carpenter did, figuring it was fine since we passed. He pointed at the doubled trimmer and just said "that one's carrying the wrong load, you'll hear it in five years." We pulled and re-hung that section over two days, about $2,100 in labor and lumber. Turns out he'd seen the same mistake fail in a Bend subdivision back in 2019. Anybody else get a fix from an inspector that stung at the time but turned out cheap?
