Why does nobody talk about the concrete pour that went wrong in my Denver build?

We were setting up for the foundation slab on my new house last Tuesday when a sudden rainstorm hit and washed out a big section of the fresh concrete. My builder had to stop the pour, jackhammer out the bad part, and redo it three days later. Has anyone else dealt with a weather delay that messed up a major step like this, and how did you handle the extra cost?
