Caught a fake DHL text last week and almost tapped the link before I noticed the misspelled tracking number
Was sitting in my truck in the Whataburger lot on Tuesday when a text came in saying my package was held at a warehouse in Dallas, and the tracking number had letters mixed in where digits should be. I reported it to 7726 and deleted it, how do you all spot these fast when you're tired after work?
What got you to finally notice the mixed-up tracking number? I ask because the good fakes usually look right at a quick glance, and the slip-ups tend to be small stuff like a link that goes to dhl-tracking dot something weird, or a number that's one digit short. After a long shift your brain just wants the package to be real, so it skips right past the details. Do you have a set thing you check first now, like always opening the real DHL app instead of tapping anything in the text?
