My 2FA backup codes hit 900 and I froze

I was cleaning out my old password manager last weekend and noticed the backup code section said 900 stored entries. Turns out I had been saving every single one-time code from every site since 2021, never deleting any. That number made me realize how many accounts I actually have, and how sloppy my system was. I spent 5 hours going through them all and deleting the dead ones. Has anyone else found a crazy number of old recovery keys sitting around, and how do you keep yours organized?

Treat your backup codes like passwords, rotate them yearly instead of hoarding.
