Rant: Blew $150 on a VPN service that did nothing for my home network

Signed up for a big name VPN last month thinking it would protect all my devices. Turned out it slowed my internet to a crawl and didn't even block half the tracking ads my router already catches. Support kept saying to try different servers, no help. Anyone else waste cash on a VPN that was just marketing hype?

Gasped out loud when I read $150. @taylor_fox is right, that's a fancy speed bump for sure. I paid half that for a year of another VPN and it was still a waste. My internet went from 200 Mbps to like 30 after connecting. And the whole "blocks ads" claim was a joke - I still got popups and trackers everywhere. Support just told me to switch protocols and restart my router five times. Wish I'd just spent that money on a Pi-hole instead.
