Tried that 'password manager for everything' advice and locked myself out of my email for a whole weekend

I finally caved and used LastPass to generate a random 20-character password for my Gmail. Then I forgot my master password and spent Saturday on hold with support while my inbox filled up with junk. Has anyone else had a password manager backfire on them like this?

That master password is the one thing you absolutely cannot forget. Lesson learned the hard way.
