Showerthought: my pastor said skip the 2020 election talk at Thanksgiving, my uncle proved him right in 4 minutes
Back in November 2020 my pastor pulled me aside after service in Springfield and said if I wanted to keep the peace, do not bring up the election at my aunt's table, and I laughed it off. Sure enough my uncle asked my cousin one question about her vote and within 4 minutes two people left the room and nobody talked for the rest of the meal. So how do you all handle family gatherings where a touchy topic is basically a landmine, do you set rules ahead of time or just avoid the table?
