Swapped my church potluck for a mosque dinner, learned way more than I planned
Last month in Columbus I attended a Ramadan iftar at a local mosque instead of my usual Sunday potluck. The imam walked us through why they fast, and honestly I expected to feel out of place but instead I got 40 minutes of questions from folks curious about my own faith. It made me realize I'd never actually talked to a Muslim about their beliefs, only read about them. Has anyone else gone to a service outside their own religion and came out with their assumptions flipped?

That potluck swap angle is the real kicker for me. Church and mosque potlucks are basically the same vibe, giant trays of food and people asking if you've eaten enough. Funny how the shared fear of being hungry somehow makes the theology stuff easier to talk about.
