Just hit 500,000 miles on my personal truck's original injectors
I was doing the math on my service records (you know, the ones I actually keep for my own stuff) and the odometer crossed that mark last Tuesday. I've been running the same set of Bosch injectors since the truck was new, which honestly surprised me given some of the fuel we get around here. Anyone else have a rig that just refuses to quit on a major component?

Original injectors for 500k miles? That's wild, read that's basically unheard of.

Yeah, that's seriously impressive. I saw something a while back (maybe on a forum) where a guy got over 400k on his, and everyone acted like it was a miracle. So @the_riley is right, hitting half a million on the originals is basically legendary status. It really comes down to luck with the fuel quality and just nailing the maintenance every single time. Most of us will never see that kind of life out of a set, which makes your truck a real freak in the best way.

Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me there's people out there with 400k on the original injectors? I thought that was just a unicorn story. My buddy's got a 7.3 that needed a new set at 280k, and he was happy with that. The fact that someone got to half a mil, like @the_riley said, that's just nuts. You guys are talking about fuel quality and maintenance like it's a science experiment, but honestly, I think a big part of it is just dumb luck. Your truck must have been blessed by the diesel gods or something, because that's not normal.
