Finally tried Procreate after using Photoshop for years
I've been doing digital painting in Photoshop since 2019. Last month I switched to Procreate on an iPad and the difference is insane. The brush engine feels way more natural and I finished a piece in half the time. Has anyone else made a similar switch and noticed a huge change in their workflow?

Yo, that's awesome! One thing nobody talks about though is how Procreate totally changes how you think about layers. In Photoshop you just stack em up forever, but Procreate's layer limit actually forces you to be more intentional with your workflow. I've found myself blending more on single layers and using masks smarter, which honestly makes the final piece feel more cohesive. Plus the undo history thing - Procreate only saves like 250 actions compared to Photoshop's basically unlimited, so you have to commit to your strokes more. It sounds annoying but it actually makes you a better artist in the long run.

Know what you mean about committing to strokes. I remember this one time I was working on a piece and kept second guessing every line, must have undone like 50 times in a row. My iPad almost crashed. But honestly that limit kinda forced me to slow down and trust my hand more. Now I don't even think about undoing stuff unless it's something really dumb. It's like the training wheels come off and you just have to go with it.

Honestly, the layer limit thing drove me nuts at first but now I kinda like the challenge.
