Hit 500 followers on my art account and honestly it messed with my head a bit
I mean, I've been posting my digital stuff for maybe 8 or 9 months now. Nothing crazy, just character sketches and some landscape studies when I'm bored. Figured I'd be lucky to get past 50 people who actually see it. Then yesterday I checked and it said 502 followers. Idk why but that number just felt like a milestone I wasn't expecting to hit. Made me think about all the pieces I almost didn't post because I thought they weren't good enough. Anyone else get weirdly emotional about hitting a random number like that?

Has anyone else spent way longer than they should have trying to screenshot the exact moment a follower count changes?

500 followers is one of those weird numbers that just hits different. I remember when I hit 300 on my old photography account and it made me go back through everything I'd ever posted. What really helped me was going through my early stuff and comparing it to what I was putting out around that 500 mark. You start to see the progress that the number itself doesn't show. The pieces you almost didn't post are usually the ones that teach you the most, so keep pushing those out. Take a screenshot of that number and save it somewhere, it's a good reminder on days when you feel like you're just shouting into the void.
