Just hit 500 followers on my art page and honestly it felt worse than 50

Everyone keeps saying you need 1k or 10k to get anywhere, but hitting 500 last Friday just made me stare at my grid and realize I was drawing for the algorithm instead of myself. My last 20 pieces took twice as long and got half the likes of the messy sketch dump I posted in March. So now I'm posting whatever I want for a month, anyone else ditch the numbers game and feel better for it?
