Spent 3 weekends fighting a halo effect on my line art before I found the actual cause
I started a digital piece of a mountain cabin about a month ago and noticed a faint gray halo hugging every line where I'd erased. I figured it was a brush setting, so I messed with smoothing and hardness for two weekends with no luck. Turns out I had a tiny bit of leftover zoom blur on a layer I copied way back at the start, and it was sitting under everything the whole time. Three weekends of my life gone because I never checked the layer stack from the bottom up, and now I feel kind of dumb when I think about it. Does anyone else ever trace a problem all the way back to a stray layer you forgot you even made?
