Submitted my digital piece with a hidden layer turned off
Finished my entry for the online gallery last night. Accidentally left a detail layer hidden when I exported the file. Only saw it after I hit submit. Panicked for a bit, thought it looked empty. But a friend said the simpler version had better focus. Got a couple likes on the clean look. Guess sometimes mistakes work out.

That bit about your friend saying the simpler version had better focus rings true. I read an interview with a graphic designer who talked about hiding layers on purpose to test the core idea. They said too much detail can bury the message. Your accident might have accidentally done that cleanup for you. It's cool that the cleaner look got some positive feedback.

Guess I should start crashing all my projects then. Maybe I'll drop my laptop down the stairs to see if it writes my emails for me. It's funny how the broken version often shows you what you should have made in the first place. My buddy would say the universe just gave me a free edit.
