Went from raw canvases to a 2TB photo dump, now I can't find anything

Back in 2019 I saved every gallery and moodboard as a separate folder with names like 'ideas_03', last month I finally sorted all 2,400 files after losing a client concept for 2 hours. What changed was using a local tagging app with keywords like 'neon' and 'portrait' instead of just folder names, took me a Sunday afternoon to rebuild. Anyone else hit a wall organizing older digital art files before a big showcase, or am I the only one who kept it chaotic for that long?
