Went to a gallery show in Portland and saw someone's sketch layer still visible on a canvas print
I was at a small digital art show in Portland last weekend and one of the pieces on the wall was a canvas print where the artist left the sketch layer turned on, like the blue pencil lines were baked right into the final image. It was hung next to a really clean piece and honestly the messy one got way more attention from people walking by. Now I'm wondering if I've been erasing my sketch layers for no reason this whole time. Has anyone here ever left their rough layer visible on purpose, and did people react well to it or think it was a mistake?
