My entire video history got wiped from a platform for a single comment

I was on a video site last month when I got a notice saying my account was terminated for 'hateful conduct'. The only thing I'd posted that day was a comment on a news clip from Portland, saying the mayor's policy was failing. No warning, no appeal, just gone. Has anyone else lost years of content over something this minor?

Honestly the real issue is these platforms outsource moderation to cheap contractors. They're just checking boxes on a list, not looking at context. Your entire history got nuked by someone following a script.

But what if the script is the only fair way, @wilson.diana?

Fairness depends on what the script is trying to do. If it's just about making the process the same for everyone, it fails when it ignores why people post things. A rule can't understand a joke or tell the difference between being mean and quoting someone who was mean. The script becomes the problem when it treats all those situations the same.
