Shoutout to the mods who nuked my entire thread over a single link to a public archive

Lost about three hours of work compiling that timeline because they claimed it violated a 'no external sources' rule that wasn't in the sidebar. Anyone know a platform that actually lets you cite primary documents without getting purged?

Heard about a similar thing happening on a history forum last week. Some platforms get really jumpy about links even when they're just to public records. Might want to check out some independent forums focused on research, they usually have clearer rules. It's frustrating when mods don't give you a chance to fix the post first. Really kills your drive to share good info.

Try saving your sources as text files first, then share those instead (worked for me with census records).
