A contractor's offhand comment made me redo my drywall seams

Had a guy doing the final walkthrough on a rental flip in Akron, and he pointed at my seams and said 'you can see every joint from here.' I was using quick set and moving too fast, leaving little humps. Spent the next two weekends sanding everything down and applying a skim coat instead of just feathering wider. Anyone else get told their mud work was sloppy and had to redo it?
