CAD grid snapping drove me crazy until I stopped fighting it

I was laying out ductwork for a retrofit at a warehouse in Columbus and kept missing my connection points because I had snap set to endpoint only, spent a whole morning chasing my own mistakes. After the third redo of the same branch line, I turned on midpoint and intersection snaps together and the whole layout clicked into place in maybe 20 minutes. Anyone else ever realize their snap settings were the real problem, or do you swear by a specific combo I should try?

Had the same thing happen with a plant room piping layout last year, wasted almost a full day before I figured out my snaps were the issue and not my mouse. Endpoint plus midpoint plus intersection is pretty much my default now too (throw in perpendicular when I'm running branch lines off a main). The one that bit me was leaving nearest snap on, it grabbed whatever was closest and threw off my dims by a hair every time. Turning that off and using a tight combo instead of everything at once made way more difference than I expected.
