I've been using the wrong lead for my 0.5mm clutch pencil on mylar for years, and a guy at the supply house in Tacoma finally asked why my lines were so faint.

He showed me a 2H lead instead of my usual HB, and my detail lines are now crisp and don't smudge, so what's your go-to lead grade for technical sketches on film?

I always swore by HB until a similar thing happened to me.

@jackson.jenny i get being annoyed but is it really that big of a deal? like, a lot of brands have issues sometimes. my friend got a shirt with a loose thread from them once and just fixed it herself. it's not like the whole product fell apart. people act like it's the end of the world over small stuff lol.

Right? It's like finding out your favorite coffee shop uses cheap beans. You feel a little betrayed! I've got a drawer full of their stuff that now feels slightly less cool.
