Switched from a 0.5mm to a 0.7mm lead holder for my main work and got some looks

Everyone in my office swears by 0.5mm for detail, but I kept breaking leads on heavy revisions. I switched to a 0.7mm Staedtler lead holder about six months ago for my daily redlines. The line weight is a bit bolder, but I haven't snapped a single lead since, and my hand doesn't cramp up on long sessions. Has anyone else made a move that went against the grain but just worked better for them?

That whole office culture thing with the "right" tool is everywhere. People get stuck on what's normal, like the default phone case or the standard keyboard. But sometimes the normal thing is just wrong for the job. If a thicker lead stops the breaks and the hand pain, then the 0.5mm crew can keep their snaps. You found what actually works for your hand and your task, which is the whole point of a tool.

Honestly, it's not even about the lead snapping less. The bigger thing is how it glides. Less pressure means your hand just chills out. Took me forever to figure that out.
