Three months of snow removal invoices and zero complaints. Here is why.

I was spending like 4 hours every Monday chasing late payments from my residential snow clearing clients in Edmonton. Tried reminder emails and even a late fee but nothing stuck. Then I switched to asking everyone to pre-pay for the season back in November for a 10% discount. 37 out of 40 clients paid upfront and I haven't had to chase a single dollar since. Has anyone else tried offering a seasonal discount to get ahead of the billing headache?

Prepay discounts changed everything for my landscape contracts too.

Did you set it up where the discount kicks in automatically or do you have to manually apply it each time? I found that making it automatic was the only way to stop myself from forgetting and then having to explain to a customer why they didn't get the deal. It's been a game changer for cash flow, especially during the slower months. Just be careful with the math - I accidentally gave too deep a discount once and it ate into my margins pretty bad.
