That week we had to rewire the old theater downtown
We found knob and tube hidden behind every wall, plus three separate junction boxes that weren't on any of the original plans. It took us four days just to map it all out before we could even start the new runs. Has anyone else had a job where the existing wiring was way more of a mess than you were told?

Oh man, that sounds like a total nightmare. Finding hidden knob and tube is bad enough, but three mystery junction boxes? That's asking for trouble. @mary_knight80, a whole extra fuse box is wild, but at least that's a contained problem. This theater job sounds like they sold you a simple rewire and handed you a full-on archeology dig. Four days just to map it is insane, but you absolutely have to do it right.

Honestly, mapping it for four days sounds like the only safe way to start. Did the old plans just leave that stuff out, or was someone actively trying to hide the mess?
