I paid for a secure email service and it's been a mixed bag

Spent about $60 for a year of ProtonMail after hearing how it protects messages. The encryption is solid and I feel better about my privacy. But I've had three friends say my emails went to their spam folder, which defeats the point if no one reads them. It happened when I sent links to articles about new privacy laws in Europe. Makes me wonder if big email services flag encrypted traffic automatically. Has anyone else run into delivery problems with secure email when talking about sensitive topics?

The part about your emails going to spam is hilarious. Sounds like the big email services are so scared of privacy talk they just block it, which is kinda the point. You paid for privacy and got a lesson in irony instead lol.

Ugh, same thing happened to me. I had to whitelist my own address with my contacts and it finally stopped. Honestly feels like you need to warn people before you switch.
