An old timer told me my clinches looked like a bear chewed them

He pulled me aside after a shoeing job in Lexington and said my finish work was rough. I started spending an extra five minutes per hoof just cleaning up the clinches with a rasp, and it made a huge difference in how the job looks. Anyone else have a small critique that stuck with you?

Spending an extra five minutes per hoof" is a big time add. How do you fit that in without running way over on a full set?

Actually, it's not five extra minutes per hoof. The extra time is for the whole clean-up and oil step at the end, maybe adds ten minutes total. So you're looking at like two, three minutes extra per horse, not per hoof. That's way more doable, taylor82.
