Pro tip: Skip the sheer panels unless you want a wardrobe malfunction

I mean, idk about you, but I tried designing a dress with sheer inserts and it was a total fail. Maybe it's just me, but they always look cheap and fall apart in the wash.

Guess it depends on the fabric and construction! I made a dress with sheer sleeves last year, and it's still going strong after many washes. Using a higher quality mesh and sewing it properly makes a huge difference. Maybe try a different material or technique next time? Sheer panels can look really elegant when done well, not cheap at all.

Listen to @quinn268. Quality matters a lot with sheer stuff. I tried a dress with mesh once and it ripped fast, but my friend has one that's lasted years. She used better fabric and sewed it right. Don't write off sheer panels just because of a bad experience.
