My neighbor's trick for longer-lasting tulips blew my mind, lmao.

He told me to put a penny in the vase water, and it works!

That penny trick is a classic one, and the copper does help. I found it works even better if you also cut the stems at an angle and change the water every couple days. Keeping them out of direct sun and away from ripening fruit makes a huge difference too. My blooms easily last a week longer with that whole routine.

My friend tried that exact penny and angled cut method on some grocery store roses last month. She was so sure they'd wilt in three days like always. Ended up with them looking almost fresh for over two weeks, which is crazy for her. She even sent me a picture because she didn't believe it herself. The part about keeping them away from bananas on the counter was her big lightbulb moment. Now she moves her fruit bowl to the other side of the kitchen whenever she gets flowers.

Ever tried filtering the tap water first, @calebw50?
