Torn between sticking with sand casting or trying die casting for my next move

Isn't the real issue here what your production run looks like? Sand casting works for small batches and intricate designs, but die casting is faster for large numbers. That choice is about matching the method to the job, not about being a specialist or a jack-of-all-trades.

My buddy who makes custom bike parts learned that the hard way. Tried sand casting for a big order and it totally wrecked his timeline.
