Update: A quick stretch break saved my back during a long work day

Sitting for hours on client projects started giving me bad back pain. I now set a timer to stand and stretch every hour, and it keeps the pain away.

Honestly setting a timer every hour seems like a lot. Most people just get up when they feel stiff. Was it actually bad pain or just normal soreness from sitting? Feels like maybe you're making a bigger deal out of regular office job discomfort.

Yeah but my uncle ignored that "normal soreness" until he herniated a disc reaching for a printer paper ream. @the_avery That stuff can sneak up on you fast. Now he has to do physical therapy twice a week which is a way bigger hassle than some hourly stretches. Sometimes the small fix stops the big disaster.

Who knew printer paper was more dangerous than it looks? Ignoring a little soreness can turn into a big problem fast. Now I'm side-eyeing my stapler too.
