It dawned on me that my new tablet's battery life is nothing like the reviews said

I picked this tablet because every review praised how fast it was. But after a week, I noticed the battery goes dead way too quickly during normal stuff like browsing. I finally got that reviews sometimes forget to talk about real day-to-day use. Now I always check what regular people say before buying anything. It's a small thing, but it makes a big difference.

Yeah, that bit about "real day-to-day use" is spot on. I always went by the big reviews too, until a similar thing happened with a laptop.

I actually trust those big tech site reviews more than random people, @brian_martin75. They test a hundred laptops a year and run the same battery life test on every single one. My last phone got ripped apart in user forums for overheating, but the proper review at AnandTech showed it was only a degree warmer than its rivals under full load. That kind of controlled data is way more reliable than one person's bad luck.
