After straining my shoulder during a home workout, I'm questioning my warm-up routine.

I was doing pull-ups in my doorway and felt a sharp pain because I didn't stretch first. Now I'm sidelined, and I wonder how others structure their pre-workout activities to avoid this.

In a recent article from the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, they emphasized dynamic warm-ups over static stretching before strength training. They recommended exercises like arm circles and scapular retractions specifically for shoulder health before pull-ups. I've switched to doing 10 minutes of dynamic mobility work, and it's made a huge difference in how my joints feel during workouts. The key is to increase blood flow and range of motion without fatiguing the muscles, which static stretching can sometimes do.

Hope you're healing up okay, shoulder strains are the worst. I messed mine up similarly last year by skipping a proper warm-up. After seeing @anna_west's comment, I switched to dynamic stretches like arm circles and it really helps.
