Update: Snagged a vintage Stanley thermos for $4 and turned it into a chic bathroom countertop organizer for cotton swabs.
A quick soak in vinegar removed the old coffee smell, and now it holds all my Q-tips perfectly.

Is that what people do with old thermoses? Mine just holds coffee while I'm out on a job site for 12 hours.

Whoa, twelve hours? Mine's dead after five. Always thought they were exaggerating those claims.

Hold up, your thermos keeps coffee hot for a full 12-hour shift? Mine turns lukewarm after like four hours, even the fancy stainless steel one. I had to microwave my coffee by lunchtime last week because it was basically cold. What kind of sorcery is in that thing, or are you just drinking it fast? Do you have to preheat it for an hour or something?
