Garden swaps have me cooking different meals lately
I trade basil from my patio for tomatoes from a friend's rooftop garden. This means I end up making pasta sauces and salads I never thought to try. What kind of dishes do you make from your garden trades?

How far does that unofficial system go, like are you guys swapping eggs or homemade stuff too? That's basically a whole neighbor-run market lol.

Notice how these little trades accidentally build a whole local food economy. My street's got this unofficial barter system now where nobody buys herbs anymore, we just swap for what we need. It quietly changes how you eat.

Our street did the same thing with tomatoes and zucchini last summer. We ended up sharing so much that nobody had to buy certain produce for months. It really makes you think about where your food comes from.
