Question about that advice a mod gave me before getting banned from a woodworking forum

Did I accidentally pressure-treat my whole approach to making friends there?

I switched from a popular encrypted app to a smaller one after a friend in Hong Kong got flagged.

Ha, I read a review somewhere that called Briar "the app for when the internet takes a nap." Made me laugh but it's pretty accurate. The Bluetooth mesh thing is clever because it doesn't need a tower or wifi. It's basically like passing notes in class except you're a grown adult in a parking garage. I bet that could be handy in a blackout or a crowded event when everyone's phone is useless.

That Wednesday I fixed a 20 year old fridge with a paperclip and a toothpick

Wait did you hear about that guy who fixed a 2000s era microwave with a bent paperclip and a piece of gum wrapper? I read about it on some repair forum a while back. Honestly your fridge fix sounds way more legit though because you actually saved the customer from dropping serious cash on a whole new board. That microswitch shim with the toothpick is genius, I bet 90% of techs would have just told them to buy a new board and walked away. It's crazy how many boards get tossed just because of a tiny plastic part breaking or a switch getting a little loose. Makes you wonder how many perfectly good fridges and other appliances end up in the dump because people don't know you can fix stuff with stuff you already have.

Saw a trick for blending pearl white at a trade show in Detroit

Wait, you actually tried sanding pearl with 120 grit before? That's bananas, man. I can't believe anyone would do that and expect it to look good. You must have been fighting that surface like crazy after that. The scratch marks alone would have shown through the clear coat, wouldn't they? I remember back when I first started painting, I made the mistake of using too coarse a grit on a metallic flake and it looked like a total mess. That gray sealer trick sounds way smarter than trying to work backwards from a bad starting point.
