Taught a $12 camera in my garage to spot when my dog barks, and it actually worked
Hooked an old webcam to a Raspberry Pi running a tiny sound model I grabbed off GitHub, trained it on 40 clips of my beagle losing his mind at the mail truck, and now I get a text before he even gets going, so has anyone else messed with sound triggered stuff instead of just cameras?
I did something close with an old mic on my porch to catch the neighbor's dog scratching at my fence. Instead of a full model, I just set a volume threshold and it texted me every time, which was too noisy so I tuned the length of the sound too. Cutting down to short sharp bursts made it way more useful than any fancy setup I tried first.
