Tiny OCR fix saved my morning at the county records office

I was scanning old property deeds for a client yesterday and kept getting garbled text from the scanner's built-in OCR. After three tries, I switched to a free AI-based OCR tool that cleaned up the handwriting and stamps way better. It turned a 20-minute task into a 5-minute one, which felt huge given I had 40 more pages to go. Anyone else hit a wall with standard scanning software before upgrading to an AI option?
