A Hugging Face forum mod told me my model card was missing one key thing, and it changed how I post every repo now
A mod on the Hugging Face forums left a comment on my Llama 3 fine tune repo in March saying my model card had no eval numbers, just vibes. I added a small table with MMLU and a few task scores plus the exact GPU hours, and the card started getting 4x more downloads in a week. Do you all put eval numbers on every upload, or only the ones you think will get traffic?
Reminds me of when I posted a tiny anime style LoRA last year with zero info, just a couple sample pics, and it sat at like 200 downloads for months. Then I went back and added the training params, the base model, and a note that it was trained on 40 images at 512 res, and it jumped to over a thousand in two weeks. People really do download based on trust signals, not just the files. Now I at least throw in the basics on everything, even the dumb little experiments.
