A guy at the flea market in Tulsa sold me a $5 air fryer basket and it crisps better than my $90 one
I was digging through a junk bin at the Tulsa flea market last Saturday and this older guy running the booth started laughing at me for even looking at air fryer stuff. He told me his wife bought a fancy basket with a dial and nonstick coating, hated it, and now it just sits in a drawer. Then he handed me this plain wire basket with no coating, no handle, nothing, just stamped metal he said came off an old fryer someone tossed. I paid $5, took it home, and my wings came out with crispy skin in 18 minutes at 380 without shaking once. My $90 basket from the big store always left the bottom soggy no matter what I did. Anyone else ditched the coated baskets for plain metal, or am I just lucky this one fits my drawer?
