Just realized I've been ignoring my air fryer's preheat button this whole time

My sister mentioned last week that she preheats hers for 5 minutes before dropping in frozen fries, so I tried it with the same bag I've been using for months, and the difference in crispiness was honestly kind of embarrassing, has anyone else skipped preheating and noticed a big change once they started?
