Rant: The shop I just left only used generic torque wrenches, my new place has Snap-on digital ones.

The difference in speed and confidence on a Cessna 172's cylinder base nuts is night and day... the digital readout eliminates the squint-and-guess. Anyone else feel like the right tool is worth the fight with accounting?

...so my buddy Brent was using one of those old beam-style torque wrenches on a critical engine mount bolt and it just didn't feel right. He tightened it by feel and the next day the whole mount had shifted half an inch during a test run. Took him a whole weekend to fix the mess and he swore he'd never go back to guessing again.

Right? It's like going from a dull kitchen knife to a razor. That instant click or beep just makes the whole job feel more solid.

Tell me about it... my old one felt like trying to cut a tomato with a spoon. That click is everything.
