I finally stopped recommending wireless sensors for every retrofit job
Been seeing a lot of guys push the wireless route on older homes because it's faster, but I've had three callbacks in Philly this month alone from RF interference near a 5G tower on Chestnut Street. The hardwired runs take an extra hour, but the reliability on those 1980s plaster walls is worth it. Anyone else run into dead zones that a repeater just couldn't fix?
That 5G tower on Chestnut is a beast, I've seen it mess with stuff two blocks out. Are you swapping those failed sensors out for hardwired now, or are you still trying to find a workaround with a different frequency? I'm real curious if a shielded cable or a different mounting spot actually saved any of those jobs for you.
